Fia Cafe, Rathgar

Do you know up till about 2 years ago I didn’t even drink coffee… clearly I didn’t know what I was missing out on! Nowadays it’s a 2 a day habit and I love nothing more than sipping over a cappuccino having a chat or reading a book if I’m solo.

I love to see all the new cafes popping up around Dublin. Gone are the old fashioned models with plastic chairs and pretty non-descript food and in their place are fresh, modern spaces that serve some pretty great coffee and food. One such place is the recently opened Fia Cafe in Rathgar. I drive past it going to and from yoga regularly and every time it’s almost full, which can only be a good sign!

I visited for Brunch last week. The menu is short enough but some of the options are drool worthy and alongside Roasted Brown coffee it makes for a very pleasant meal!

Choosing to sit outside means I have zero photos of the interior but the room is pared back and bright in light grey tones and simple tables and chairs. Drinks options are coffee and tea, a selection of herbal teas, hot chocolate, some juices or a housemade soda or wine if you like to start boozing early πŸ™‚Β  As ever, I chose the cappuccino..

The presentation of the food is absolutely stunning, I mean how pretty is that Granola?! It was definitely the nicest that I’ve ever tasted, the cherries and blueberries were bursting with flavour and the added crunch of the hazlenuts and freshness of the mint was a fab combination.

The mushrooms on toast were also pretty spectacular and the white truffle sauce was the stuff of dreams!

They had a selection of tasty looking cakes at the counter inside but wanting just a little treat I chose this cute little lemon and poppy seed muffin which was delicious.

Fia is the perfect spot for a beautifully prepared Brunch, proving that you don’t need to venture into the city for great food. Put it on your list if you are anywhere near the area!
